HIV project for making mobility safe (SAFE PASSAGE)

The "SAFE PASSAGE" project was implemented in Kailali District from April 2008 to December 2012 with the goal of making mobility safer to reduce the risk of HIV and AIDS. The initiative focused on addressing the vulnerabilities of mobility-affected populations by promoting awareness, prevention, and support mechanisms within the community.

Key objectives of the project included:

  • Enhancing the safety of mobility to minimize exposure to HIV-related risks.
  • Building the capacity and awareness of local organizations, networks, and individuals affected by mobility.
  • Preventing and controlling the spread of HIV infections through targeted interventions and education.
  • Mitigating the socioeconomic implications of HIV/AIDS on the livelihoods of affected individuals and families.

The project involved collaboration with local stakeholders, grassroots organizations, and networks to deliver training programs, awareness campaigns, and support services. These efforts aimed to foster a more informed and resilient community capable of addressing HIV-related challenges and ensuring a safer environment for mobility-affected populations.
