Income generation program through group mobilization
This program was designed to improve community livelihoods and reduce poverty by leveraging the collective strength of group mobilization. Implemented in the Pahalmanpur, Thapapur, and Masuriya VDCs of Kailali District, it targeted economically disadvantaged and marginalized populations, focusing on fostering self-reliance and sustainable economic growth.
A key aspect of the program was empowering community members by providing access to skill development training tailored to local needs and opportunities. These trainings covered diverse areas such as agriculture, livestock management, small-scale enterprises, and vocational skills, enabling participants to generate income and contribute to their households' economic stability.
The program also facilitated access to resources, including financial support through savings and credit groups, tools, and raw materials needed for productive activities. By establishing and strengthening local groups, the initiative encouraged collective decision-making, shared responsibility, and mutual support, creating a platform for sustained community development.
Furthermore, the program actively promoted market linkages and entrepreneurial skills, helping participants connect their products and services to broader markets. This approach not only improved individual incomes but also contributed to the local economy’s growth.
By fostering collaboration among community members and building their capacity for self-reliance, the program sought to create lasting impacts. It aimed to uplift living standards, reduce economic disparities, and provide a pathway out of poverty for the most vulnerable groups in the region.
