Program Detail's
Urban Risk Management Project, URMP
The Urban Risk Management Project (URMP) was implemented in Kailali District, specifically in Dhangadhi Municipality, from June 2012 to March 2015. This project aimed to reduce the vulnerability of urban communities to disasters while strengthening the capacity of the municipality to prepare for and respond to such events effectively.
Through a combination of community engagement, capacity building, and disaster risk reduction strategies, URMP focused on enhancing resilience at both the municipal and grassroots levels. Key activities included risk assessments, awareness campaigns, disaster preparedness training, and the development of early warning systems. By fostering collaboration among local authorities, community members, and stakeholders, the project contributed to building a safer and more disaster-resilient urban environment in Dhangadhi Municipality.
