Maternal and Neo-natal Health project (CRADEL)
The Maternal and Neonatal Health Project (CRADEL) was implemented in Kailali District, Nepal, from August 2008 to September 2011. The project targeted 15 Village Development Committees (VDCs): Sugarkhal, Paundon, Mohanyal, Malakheti, Sahajpur, Godawari, Nigali, Khairala, Joshipur, Thapapur, Bouniya, Pahalmanpur, Ramshikarjhala, Dododhara, and Baliya.
The primary goal of the CRADEL project was to improve maternal and neonatal health outcomes and reduce maternal and child mortality in the region. The project focused on strengthening access to quality healthcare services, raising awareness of safe motherhood practices, and enhancing the capacity of local healthcare systems to address maternal and neonatal health needs effectively.
Through community engagement, healthcare provider training, and infrastructure support, the CRADEL project aimed to empower women, families, and communities to prioritize maternal and child health, ultimately contributing to better health and well-being for mothers and newborns in Kailali District.
