Water Sanitation and Hygiene Program

The Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Program was successfully implemented in Kailali District, covering Lamkichuwa, Kailari VDCs, and Tikapur Municipality. The project aimed to enhance access to safe drinking water, improve sanitation facilities, and promote hygiene practices for better health and well-being.

This initiative targeted vulnerable groups, including those at risk, displaced by conflict, or excluded from social inclusion processes—such as women, Dalits, tribal communities, and economically disadvantaged populations. By addressing critical gaps in WASH services, the program made significant strides in improving the living conditions of marginalized communities and promoting equity.

Key interventions included:

  • Installing safe drinking water systems to ensure access to clean and reliable water.
  • Constructing and upgrading sanitation facilities to improve hygiene and reduce health risks.
  • Conducting awareness campaigns on hygiene practices to prevent waterborne diseases and promote healthy lifestyles.
  • Empowering women and marginalized groups through community engagement and capacity-building programs.

Through these efforts, the WASH Program contributed to a healthier, more resilient, and inclusive society, transforming lives and creating lasting positive impacts for those most in need.
