Capacity Building Support Program for Women MPs and MPs from marginalized Group in Capacity Building Support Program for Women MPs and MPs from marginalized Group in Sudurpashcim province Assembly (PSP-II) province Assembly (PSP-II)
The Capacity Building Support Program (PSP-II) was implemented in Sudurpashchim Province, targeting members of the Province Assembly (PA) to empower women MPs and MPs from marginalized groups. The program aimed to strengthen their roles in legislative processes and promote inclusive governance by fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
A key component of the initiative was the creation of a sharing and learning platform that brought together former women MPs and MPs from marginalized groups, including leaders such as Deputy Speakers and committee chairs, alongside current women MPs and MPs from marginalized communities. This platform facilitated meaningful dialogue where participants shared their parliamentary experiences, challenges, and successes, and explored strategies for effective leadership in legislative and committee roles.
Through mentorship, peer learning, and capacity-building activities, the program equipped MPs with the knowledge and skills to advocate for policies that address the needs of diverse communities. By amplifying marginalized voices and enhancing leadership capabilities, PSP-II contributed to fostering gender-sensitive and inclusive governance within the Sudurpashchim Province Assembly.
