Flood Response Project
The Flood
Response Project was implemented in Kailali
District, targeting Kailari Rural Municipality and Bhajani Municipality, to
address the urgent needs of communities affected by devastating floods. The
project aimed to support recovery and enhance the resilience of flood-affected
households through targeted assistance.
Key Objectives:
- Cash support for immediate needs:
- Providing cash assistance to flood-affected
households to enable them to purchase essential food supplies and meet
other urgent needs.
- Empowering families to prioritize their own
recovery efforts based on individual circumstances.
- Shelter Maintenance Support:
- Assists households in repairing and
maintaining flood-damaged homes to ensure safe and secure living
conditions.
- Providing materials or financial support to
help communities rebuild more resilient shelters.
- Tube Well Maintenance:
- Supporting the repair and maintenance of tube
wells to restore access to clean and safe drinking water.
- Reducing the risk of waterborne diseases and
ensuring sustainable water supply for daily needs.
This project played a vital role in alleviating the
hardships faced by flood-affected communities in Kailali. By addressing
immediate food, shelter, and water needs, the initiative contributed to the
recovery process and improved the resilience of vulnerable populations against
future disasters.
