LNOB Initiative: Breaking the Barriers: Empowering Families of Prisoners through Financial facilitation for social inclusion

The "Breaking the Barriers" initiative, implemented in Chure and Kailari Rural Municipalities, as well as Godawari and Gauriganga Municipalities of Kailali District, aimed to empower families of prisoners by addressing the economic and social challenges that hinder their integration into society.

This project focused on providing financial assistance and education to families of incarcerated individuals, recognizing that they often face stigma, economic hardship, and social exclusion due to their circumstances. Through targeted financial facilitation, the initiative supported these families in meeting their basic needs, accessing livelihood opportunities, and improving their overall quality of life.

Additionally, educational support was extended to help family members develop skills and knowledge, enabling them to overcome barriers to employment and social inclusion. The project also emphasized fostering community understanding and reducing discrimination against families of prisoners, creating a more inclusive and supportive environment.

By addressing both economic and social barriers, the initiative contributed to the broader goal of leaving no one behind (LNOB), ensuring that even marginalized families affected by incarceration can participate fully in society and lead dignified lives.
